Open University

Open University provides an opportunity for people not currently admitted to Cal State Fullerton to enroll in undergraduate and graduate-level classes. Registration is provided on a space available basis. Open University registration is managed by University Extended Education.

Open University is for those who:

Are not admitted to a degree program at Cal State Fullerton, but want to take classes for academic credit
Missed the deadline for admission to the University as an undergraduate transfer student
Have been disqualified from Cal State Fullerton (DQ)
Are otherwise ineligible for admission and need to raise their grade point average
Are international students with an I-20 from a college/university and proper authorization
Need to earn prerequisites for admission to a degree or credential program

Open University registration works differently for each term. Please refer to the list of deadlines to make the process easier.

Intersession is the winter session between the Fall and Spring semesters. This short term allows students to take an accelerated course – many are offered online. Refer to the course schedule for available classes. Open University registration is now open. Early Registration for Session A ends at 5 p.m. on December 19. Early Registration for Session B ends at 5 p.m. on December 20. New students will not be able to enroll after the Early Registration period ends.

Session A	December 22, 2012 to January 25, 2013	5 weeks (online classes only)
Session B	January 2, 2013 to January 25, 2013	3.5 weeks

The spring term begins in late January and continues through May. Many in-person and online courses will be available on a space-available-basis through Open University. For the best results, be sure to complete the required paperwork during the early registration period.
